EXISTING PUMP

Determine the brake horsepower of the existing pump to be replaced. This value can be obtained from the manufacturer's pump performance curves for the specific pumping condition.

NEW TORPEDO PUMP

Determine the brake horsepower of the TORPEDO PUMP by using the TORPEDO PUMP performance curves in the Pump Selection, Curves, Dimensions section of this manual.

CALCULATIONS

Subtract the TORPEDO PUMP brake horsepower value from the existing system brake horsepower value to obtain the net difference in horsepower. Multiply this value by 0.7457 to convert to kilowatts.

Multiply the net difference in kilowatts by the cost of energy (for example, $0.12 per KW-HR). Then multiply this value by the number of hours that the pump will run in one year.

The result is the Net Annualized Savings in electrical operating costs realized by retrofitting the existing system with a high-efficiency TORPEDO PUMP.
